Is this an official certification?
No. At this time, there is no official certification for providing support during IV ketamine therapy. This course equips you with the foundational training, knowledge, and tools to better support your clients. We also recommend exploring additional trainings, consultation, or supervision if you wish to go deeper into specific cases or advanced practices.
-
What makes this course different from others I see online?
This course is on-demand, accessible anytime, and designed with engaging visuals and clear, straightforward language. We cut out unnecessary jargon and complex neuroscience explanations. Our emphasis is on giving you the skills and tools to effectively support your clients, while presenting the neuroscience in a way that’s easy to understand and apply.
-
Who is this course designed for?
This course is designed for licensed mental health professionals, therapists, and clinic staff who want to feel confident in supporting clients through IV ketamine therapy. For medical staff in particular, it can be valuable to understand the nuances of how to best support patients during their treatment. While therapy itself is best left to trained mental health professionals, this knowledge helps medical providers avoid unintentionally interfering with a patient’s process and ensures a deeper understanding of the overall therapeutic journey.
-
Do I need prior experience with ketamine therapy to enroll?
No prior direct experience is required. However, this course is best suited for professionals who already have a background in psychotherapy, counseling, or related mental health fields.
-
How long will I have access to the course?
You’ll have 30 day access to the course materials. That means you can return anytime to review lessons, refresh your knowledge, or revisit sections when you begin supporting clients for 30 days.
-
Is this course CEU-accredited?
Not at this time. We designed the training to be immediately practical and applicable to your clinical work, even without CEU credit. We are exploring the possibility of offering CEUs in the future, and students will be notified if and when that becomes available.
-
How long does it take to complete the course?
The training is approximately 1.5 hours in length, but since it’s self-paced, you can complete it in one sitting or spread it out over several days.
-
Will I learn about the medical side of ketamine treatment (dosages, administration, etc.)?
No. This course focuses on the therapeutic role—preparation, integration, and emotional support for clients. All medical decisions, including dosing and administration, remain under the supervision of licensed medical providers.
-
What if I already work with clients receiving ketamine therapy? Will this still help me?
Yes. Many clinicians already supporting ketamine clients find that this course provides structure, language, and strategies that deepen their work and create more consistent, positive client outcomes.
-
How can I advertise my KAP training?
After completing this program, you may ethically and accurately state that you: “Completed training in psychotherapy support for clients during IV ketamine therapy,” “Received a Certificate of Completion in Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy for IV ketamine support,” or “Are trained in providing preparation and integration support for clients undergoing IV ketamine treatment.” What you should not claim: That you are “certified,” “board-certified,” or “licensed” in ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, since no official certifying body currently exists. This course is designed to expand your knowledge and skills in psychotherapy support for IV ketamine clients. It does not replace state licensure, formal certification, or CE-accredited programs, and it is recommended that you continue supervision and training to expand your scope of competence.
-
What will I be able to do after completing the course?
You’ll understand the IV ketamine therapy process, know how to prepare clients beforehand, provide guidance for navigating mental health support for the infusion experience, and facilitate integration sessions afterward. You’ll walk away with practical tools, therapist-tested strategies, and confidence to support your clients more effectively.
-
Will I be able to provide treatment for oral ketamine at home as a Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapist?
No. The protocol for providing KAP with oral lozenges is a separate training. This course focuses on IV ketamine therapy, though many of the therapeutic principles and supportive strategies overlap. The administration of oral ketamine is an entirely different process, but the skills you gain here will still enhance your ability to support clients in any ketamine-assisted setting.
